Description
This is a 2025 Upton Bass Brescian, effectively brand new and just beginning to be played in. The instrument came back to the shop shortly after delivery due to a change in plans on the original owner’s end, and it has seen very little use. It presents as new and meets our full current build standards.
Tonally, this Brescian has a very forward, articulate sound while remaining smooth and controlled. There is a strong presence to the note, with plenty of harmonic content already evident, and we expect it to continue developing into a deeper, broader voice as it opens up over time. The response is notably even across the entire register, making the bass feel consistent and predictable under the hands.
The bass speaks easily, with a smooth, responsive pizzicato and a clear sense of immediacy to the sound. It projects well without feeling stiff or aggressive, striking a balance that works in a wide range of musical contexts.
As always, the bass has been fully inspected and set up by our shop before being offered for sale.
